Classical training...serious fun!

The Oregon Ballet School is a private, year round school with a full ballet curriculum designed around the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance in London, England. The school is dedicated to excellence in ballet training for aspiring professionals or enthusiastic hobbyists. In the  Children’s Division (ages 4-11), instruction is designed to develop basic motor skills as well as balletic technique and vocabulary. The school promotes the enjoyment of dance in a supportive environment.

Levels: Pre-Primary for ages 4-5...Primary  (must be 6 by Jan 1, 2020)...Grade 1 (7 by Jan 1)

Grades 2-5  (ages 8+) attend 2 or more classes per week. Students from Pre-Primary and up participate in the annual spring Royal Academy of Dance Examinations  and Class Awards to ensure a high standard of training. The RAD syllabus exams are held  in 83 countries around the world.

For the sports, dance team or art enthusiasts, we offer a  special recreational program of classes in ballet for the 11-17 age group. These classes serve as cross-training as well as  performance enhancing. New classes form upon request.

In the Pre-Professional Division, students 11 and older progress from the Intermediate Foundation through the Advanced levels. Pointe work is introduced in this division for students taking a minimum of 3 classes per week at OBS. Advanced students attend a minimum of 4 classes per week.

The Adult Division offers classes in the beginning to intermediate levels  and now features the

Silver Swans classes for 55+ on Weekday mornings. Evening classes may be forming based on interest.  Saturday afternoons we offer the adult ballet boot camp to rekindle your love of ballet or come back from a significant period of time away from classes.
